Hladun & Company — Barristers and Solicitors

Emmett McCurdy began articling at Hladun & Company this summer after completing his law degree at the University of Alberta and expects to be called to the Bar in the Summer of 2027.

Emmett completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at MacEwan University in 2022, studying political behaviour and philosophy, before going on to get his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta. During law school Emmett devoted much of his time to volunteering with and eventually helping to manage Student Legal Services, a non-profit dedicated to providing law students with practical experience by helping low-income Edmontonians navigate the legal system and advocate for themselves in court. In his time as Coordinator of the organization's Civil Law Project, Emmett gained valuable experience with the civil litigation process; experience which he is now putting to use assisting representing clients in a broad range of practice areas including employment, contracts, corporate and commercial disputes, and family law.

In his free time, Emmett is an avid reader of philosophy, history, science, and science fiction, and enjoys rock climbing, camping, hiking, golf, and volleyball.
